The Imperial Palace, Kokyo, is built on the site of Edo-jo castle, also known as Chiyoda-jo, the impregnable fortress that housed the Tokugawa Shogunate for 265 years.
Our visit to the Imperial Palace consisted of a relatively short visit to the East Garden.
